Raccoons are known for cunningness, adaptability and problem-solving; perhaps that is what drew me to sculpt a raccoon when we entered the second year of COVID quarantine. I felt profound joy as the contemplative critter’s personality blossomed in clay; a perfect antidote for perplexing times. Two out of three local bronze foundries closed due to the extra challenges of post-COVID times. Luckily, each collector who waited patiently for this little sculpture assured me it was totally worth the wait.
